The coins are packaged inside 25 individual acrylic tubes of 20 coins each. All tubes are capped with a green lid featuring the US Mint seal. All of the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.

The San Francisco Mint is no longer the primary home of production for the American Silver Eagle coins. Since 2001, the West Point Mint has handled the production of all the major bullion coins from the US Mint to include the Silver Eagle, Gold Eagle, Platinum Eagle, Palladium Eagle, and the Gold Buffalo. From 1986 to 1998, the San Francisco Mint issued the BU Silver Eagles.

Walking Liberty is depicted on the obverse of all 2020 (S) American Silver Eagles inside of this Monster Box. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, the image features Lady Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand outstretched toward the sun on the horizon and her left hand carrying branches of oak and laurel.

The heraldic eagle of the United States features in the reverse design field of 2020 (S) Silver Eagle Coins. The heraldic eagle seal comes with a front-facing bald eagle, the US national shield on its chest, an olive branch in one talon, and the arrows of war in the other talon. There is also a triangular cluster of 13 stars above the eagle’s head representing the original colonies that broke away from the United Kingdom to form the United States of America.

Please note that these 2020 (S) American Silver Eagle Coins do not have mint marks, as with all other bullion releases of the Silver Eagle. The Monster Boxes came with straps and serial numbers that identify each one as a product of the San Francisco Mint.

The U.S. Mint is excited to announce the 2020 release of their American Silver Eagle bullion coin. As the official silver bullion coin of the United States, the coin was first introduced into the market in 1986 after the 1985 Liberty Coin Act approved its mintage. With a demand-based production, the coveted coin has skyrocketed in popularity among investors and collectors in the past decade, and it is estimated that more than 44 million American Silver Eagles were struck and sold in 2014 alone.

The 2020 American Silver Eagle bullion coin is comprised of one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver and contains a .07% addition of copper to increase the coin’s resilience. It has a face value of US$1 and is government-backed legal tender. Both the U.S. Mint and the U.S. government guarantee the purity, weight, and content of the IRA-eligible American Silver Eagle bullion coin.

In 1915, the U.S. Mint enlisted the expertise of Sculptor Adolph A. Weinman, a student of the famous Augustus Saint-Gaudens, to help with the redesign of all American silver coins. One particular design, Weinman’s “Walking Liberty,” which originally appeared on the first U.S. half-dollar silver coin that circulated from 1916 to 1947, has been restored and remodeled in a depiction that graces the obverse of the American Silver Eagle.

In the scene, a confident Lady Liberty proudly marches toward the westward setting sun. The American flag billows around her shoulders and she carries laurel and oak branches in her left arm, symbolizing American civil and military glory. The mint year is inscribed underneath Lady Liberty’s forward-moving foot, and the phrase “In God We Trust” is boldly engraved in the open space located on the lower right corner of the image. Large capital letters arch across the top of the coin, spelling out the word “Liberty,” and further encapsulating the design’s intentions to express U.S. symbolism.

A majestic bald eagle boasts a shielded chest in U.S. Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti’s design of the American Silver Eagle’s reverse. The Eagle proudly displays his astounding wingspan as he uses his beak to carry a flowing banner that reads “E Pluribus Unum,” which directly translates to “out of many, one.” In his right talon, the eagle grasps an olive branch, and in his left, he holds a bundle of arrows. The tops of his outstretched wings frame an inverted triangle that is comprised of thirteen stars, representing the original thirteen colonies. In a semicircle above the scene is the nation’s title, “United States of America,” and the coin’s specifications – “1 Oz. Fine Silver ~ One Dollar” – are listed below.
