Description
1 oz American Platinum Eagle Coin PCGS MS69 (Random Year)
American Platinum Eagle coins debuted from the United States Mint in 1997 as the first-ever bullion coin from the mint with new designs on one side each year. The design changes only applied to the Proof Platinum Eagle, but were monumental nonetheless as no other major American bullion coin had pursued such a design tactic before. Right now, 1 oz American Platinum Eagle Coins are available to purchase online from Complex Bullion.

- Arrives inside of a protective plastic slab courtesy of the PCGS!
- Available 1997-2008, 2014, and 2016-present!

The individual 1 oz American Platinum Eagle Coins available for you to purchase today come with a near-perfect grade from the PCGS. Coins with a Mint State 69 certification exhibit full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited to only minuscule contact marks or hairlines found outside the primary focal areas of the coin.
JM Bullion offers you a 1 oz Platinum Eagle through this listing from random years of issue. We select your coins at random once your payment has processed and cannot guarantee specific date marks. Likewise, we cannot hand pick select date marks for variety’s sake if you buy more than one coin.
1 oz American Platinum Eagle bullion coins debuted in 1997 and were available through 2008. The program was suspended for several years during the Great Recession, with only the proof versions offered during that period. The 1 oz coin returned in 2014, was not struck in 2015, and has been issued annually again since 2016.
On the obverse of 1 oz American Platinum Eagle coins is the design of the Statue of Liberty’s face. This image was created for the Platinum Eagles in 1997 by John Mercanti. The reverse side of American Platinum Eagles features the design of an American bald eagle in flight over the continent. The sun rises in the background behind the bird as it glides with its wings spread to their fullest extent.
