Over the course of the past 30 years, 31 individual American Silver Eagle bullion coins have been struck. American Silver Eagle coins were introduced by the United States Mint in 1986 following passage of the Liberty Coin Act of 1985. The program then consisted of a 1 oz coin in both bullion and proof. Today, it includes an additional 1 oz coin available as a burnished coin, which was introduced in 2006.
The American Silver Eagle coins available to you in this product listing each have a grade of Mint State 69. Coins in this condition exhibit their full, original mint luster and feature a maximum of just two minor detracting flaws.
American Silver Eagle bullion coins are the only products in the lineup struck in each of the years of the coin’s existence. The burnished coins are just 10 years old, while the proof coins were not struck in 2009.
On the obverse you’ll find the depiction of Walking Liberty created by Adolph A. Weinman in 1916. Designed to represent the nation’s strive toward a brighter future, Walking Liberty appeared on the nation’s half-dollar coin from 1916 to 1947.
The reverse features the heraldic eagle of the United States. This image was created by former US Mint Chief Engraver John Mercanti in 1986.
