Edwardian 4.84 Carat Fine Burmese Sapphire Diamond Gold Cluster Ring

A turn-of-the-century Burmese sapphire and diamond cluster ring, the central round-shaped faceted sapphire weighing 4.84 carats, accompanied by GAGTL certificate stating to be of Burmese origin with no indication of heating, to a graduated cluster surround of old brilliant-cut diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of 2.40 carats, claw-set in silver to a yellow gold mount, to a tapered fluted yellow gold shank with diamond-set shoulders, circa 1900, head measuring 2.1 x 1.6cm, finger size L, gross weight 6.3 grammes. This exceptional ring comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This gorgeous antique piece was made at the turn of the twentieth century and features an impressive deep blue central sapphire. The sapphire is surrounded by an array of scintillating diamonds, which complement the central stone wonderfully. This piece exemplifies the elegance of the early Edwardian period and would make a stunning engagement ring. This ring is in very good condition. The sapphire fine deep blue colour, with sign of a tiny natural fisher to surface. Unmarked tested as 18ct gold and platinum.
