The reverse of the Austrian Gold Corona coins includes a regal depiction of the coat of arms of Austria. The embellished coat of arms is superimposed over the crowned imperial double-headed eagle of Austria, with engravings of the face value of the coin (100 Corona).

The Austrian Mint is the official sovereign mint of Austria. Originally opened in the 12th century with 15 tonnes of silver paid to Austria by Britain’s King Richard the Lionheart, today it is the sovereign mint and one of a few in Europe authorized to produce Euros for the Eurozone economy.
